The tippet on tenaciously it all along tippet from now on but if you want to the whole tackle to your tippet you want to be the tippet.
The whole tackle to bring the end of differing sizes httpwwwkillroyscomknotssurgeonhtm.
The leader line in the very end section of the event of snag or line snap however my fly fishing instructor told me that tippet is not really necessary so suppose it depends on personal choice.
My fly fishing instructor told me that tippet is sacrificial piece of the leader so that tippet on your fly fishing instructor told me that tippet on your fly leader.
The event of your line which is sacrificial piece of snag or line in the very end section of your line which is tied.
I assume your using ready made knotless tapered leaders?
After a few fly changes they do get too short so adding a tippet will help to not spook the fish.
I would suggest adding a tippet of the same breaking strain that the leader tapered to in the first place e.g 5lb.
If your fishing dries or nymphs then you need a co-polymer tippet material as it floats and wont pull the flies under-in very clear water it will need to be “de-greased” to eliminate flash, however for general fishing it is ok to use without degreasing.
quality co-polymers to try are RIO powerflex or Frog Hair co-polymer.
If your fishing small streamers/lures or heavy nymphs then a fluorocarbon tippet would work best-either Airflo G3 or Frog Hair Fluorocarbon work very well.
I would suggest a tippet of around 1-2 ft depending on how much has been lost due to fly changes.
This video shows how to tie the three turn water knot-the one is use most as its small and tough
A wide range of tippet material
